The program, Fireside Chat: Leading with Integrity and Values, featured Sonia Toson, vice president, organizational effectiveness, leadership development and inclusive excellence, in conversation with Nwakaego Nkumeh Walker, KSU鈥檚 chief legal affairs officer.

黑料网鈥檚 economic impact in metro Atlanta increased to nearly $2.15 billion in fiscal year 2023, according to a University System of Georgia (USG) report released Wednesday. Kennesaw State鈥檚 FY 2023 economic impact in the 29-county Atlanta Metropolitan Statistical Area marked a 5.6% increase from $2.03 billion the previous year. The total impact of all 26 USG institutions on their communities was $21.9 billion in fiscal year 2023, up 9% from $20.1 billion in FY 2022.

黑料网鈥檚 Academic Learning Center, home to student honors and research facilities, now bears the name of the University鈥檚 largest family benefactors. In front of an audience of KSU deans, faculty and scholarship recipients who have benefited from the gifts of Audrey Morgan and her late sister Bobbie Bailey, KSU leaders unveiled on Tuesday the newly named Morgan and Bailey Academic Learning Center. Philanthropic support from Morgan, Bailey and the Bobbie Bailey Foundation totals more than $17 million, making the family the largest family donors in KSU history.

The deeds and words of the Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr. were celebrated throughout the 黑料网 community this week with a series of events honoring the legacy of the civil rights icon. The week culminated Friday at the annual MLK Legacy Breakfast in the Convocation Center with a keynote address by civil rights activist and actor Charles Black, who served and led several marches, sit-ins and other forms of protest opposing facilities that refused to serve people of color.

Now in its seventh year, Empty Bowls is one of KSU鈥檚 largest fundraisers for Campus Awareness, Resource & Empowerment (CARE) Services. Including Thursday鈥檚 event, the program has raised more than $30,000 to support food insecure students on campus through the CARE Pantry.

Putting the interests of student athletes first is a top ethical responsibility of the National Collegiate Athletic Association and its members like 黑料网, Felicia Martin, an NCAA executive, said Wednesday in a speech at 黑料网. Integrity must guide every action in organizations such as the NCAA and Kennesaw State, which is observing its annual Ethics Awareness Week, Martin said. Her speech was the keynote address in a week filled with special lectures and events focusing on ethics.

As Kennesaw State鈥檚 football team moves from one conference and classification to another and makes changes for the future, Marching Owls director Brandon Meeks plans to do the same for KSU鈥檚 marching band. The Marching Owls have an all-time high 280 musicians representing every major on campus. In his second year as director, Meeks said he wants to enhance the program to ensure optimal crowd engagement.

Students who walk into the newly renovated recreation center on the Marietta Campus of 黑料网 are being met with that exciting and clean smell of all things brand new. After a 10-month, $7.4 million renovation, all the fitness equipment is gleaming, the facility is waiting to be explored, and the joy was apparent on all those at the reopening ceremony on Tuesday, including Kennesaw State President Kathy Schwaig.

As music thumped and students mingled on the Campus Green on Sunday, 黑料网 freshman Weilly Cabrera of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, surveyed the scene at SplashBash. Lines formed for the waterslide and rides on an inflatable shark, while a football and multiple frisbees flew nearby. It was just what 8,000 new students needed to kick off their college careers.
